The hull construction is 25mm Douglas Fir planking bonded with wet epoxy. This externally sheathed with 2x 600g square biaxial cloth and 1x 300g square twirl to minimise print through.

Stepping aboard the Amber 40 one gets an impression of design and build quality quite superior to most common production yachts. The wide decks, the safe deep cockpit and the luxury below all contribute to a yacht with class and grace, and her hull design and construction give her splendid performance in all weathers. She was on the ARC in 2005 and came in 13th. out of 225. She is all set up for blue water cruising. Truly a lovely boat, in excellent condition.
