I was greeted by the charming owner with a smile and a coffee, after pleasantries straight down to work which is just the impression that you get on viewing this vessel. A real workhorse and yet charm and elegance thrown into an excellent fishing and live aboard package. Beneteau are world renown manufactures who produce quality well designed and fitted boats, this particular model has two Volvo 200 HP diesels (circa. 2000 hours) unusual for the 905 Fly version. I was informed by the knowledgeable owner that up until 1994 a single engine was the norm, this 1994 model was fitted with two, in 1995 the manufacturer reverted to a single engine. Of the 1994 vintage only a few had this layout with twin cabins, most versions lost the second cabin to cater for the extra motor. This boat has been used successfully in the day fishing commercial sector with all documentation and stringent checks that are normally required for commercial use. The owner was keen to start the engines and ensures me that they start first time everytime ! The owner suggests a change of props, as the existing are pitted and then she’s ready to go “tight lines”.
