In 1988 Bavaria used a special anti-osmosis treatment during the build. They put in an impermeable chemical barrier called F+E polykondensate applied between the gelcoat and the first layer of GRP. Aparently is was developed by Hoescht, a German chemical company. There you are, you learn something every day!

A 1998 Bavaria is a very different animal from her younger sisters, built to a different standard in those days, this one has been brought up to date by her present owner, with loads of new kit, she is a great sail-away proposition. I had to do some serious digging to find out about this little gem, there simply aren’t that many about, so the only way you can get the measure of her is to give me a ring here at Boatshed Port Solent and come along for a viewing. She is afloat and ready to go, on a marina pontoon, so visiting her will be a doddle.
New Tek-Dek 2010, New standing rigging 2006, new Stack Pack, Spray Hood, Dodgers, UV strip 2009, Headsail furler new 2009, this is a nice little boat folks! Her navigation gear has been supplemented by a new Standard Horizon CP180i Chart Plotter, and she has wind and depth instruments, but no log. This is the first Bavaria 26 offered for sale by Boatshed Port Solent, and I have to say I am very impressed.
She looks a picture, and the owner tells me she sails very well indeed. The aft cabin is a good size for a 26 footer, and the cabin bunks look like they make decent sea berths. Her headlinings have been renewed by the present owner. She also has cabin heating, and the prop is fitted with a rope cutter. There are LOADS of lockers all around the saloon, and the keel bolts are easy to view and check just under the cabin sole.
