The interior of this boat was designed by Philippe Starck, the internationally renowned designer.
Two interior layouts were offered, one that featured mirror-image quarter berth cabins aft and a second that featured a cabin aft with an additional heads, where the second aft cabin would be, this has the second layout. She features a V-berth cabin forward followed by a head/shower to port and hanging locker to starboard. In the main saloon area there are port and starboard settees with a centerline drop-leaf table followed by a port galley and starboard navigation station. The standard interior features a lot of stark white fiberglass, aluminum trim, aluminum mouldings and stainless steel hardware. The mahogany woodwork interior results in a warmer, more yacht-like appearance.

Broker's Comments

The First 38 S5 was introduced in 1990 and continued in production until 1995. The design resulted from the collaboration of designers Jean Berret, who was responsible for the hull and rig, and Philippe Starck, who designed the interior, resulting in a beautifully crafted yacht.
This example has undergone a substantial upgrade in 1998, when mast, boom, spars, running and standing rigging, sails, and winches were all replaced. She is a superb example of a competitive cruiser/racer, providing exhilarating performance and an exceptional degree of comfort.
