However on the plus side, she is a well laid out yacht offering two large aft cabins and a heads in the rear. She has a large well planned galley, a decent sized navigation station and a comfortable saloon area with another heads, near to the double forward cabin. She can sleep 9 in comfort. A traditional, well thought out layout.
The engine is situated in the centre of the boat under the galley area and is easily accessible for maintenance purposes. Access to the stern gland is problem free.
Unlike a lot of cruising vessels with this amount of accommodation, the First 405 is a fast boat capable of good passage times. She is a joy to sail and is easily handled with a small crew. She would not disgrace herself in the Yacht Club Regatta.
What a lot of boat for the money!
