August is when the big game fishing takes place here in the Algarve with all the boats lining up for the catch of the day.
Anything counts from the humble Mackerel way up to Tuna and Black Marlin.
Another great catch is this excellent Carolina Classic 28 , built in the USA from 2000 she is geared up for some serious sea fishing adventures.
Armed with outriggers, and a marvellous Marlin tower ready to spot the next monster catch.
The charming owner proudly showed me around the amazing cockpit where there was an array of goodies including the fighting chair.
