Having photographed this yacht I can begin to understand why most of them are still sailing – strong looking, sturdy, and built like the proverbial brick outhouse, she inspires a fair amount of confidence. Such a strongly built seaboat ain’t going to win the Round the Island, but her triple keels and shoal draft mean you can dry out - “take the ground” - the modern brochures would say, so she can venture where the fin-keelers daren’t even think about.
Her navigation kit may need a little upgrading, but its all there, Radar, Autohelm. Trailing log and echo sounder, so you don’t have to do that straight away. She has shore power and a wind generator, so battery life is not an issue, she will happily live on a swinging mooring and generate her own power. What we have here is a sturdy, roomy motor-sailor with a decent engine and plenty of scope for comfortable living. Come and have a look!
