Hi i’m Chris (Chrissie), I live in Portchester on the South Coast of England with my husband Steve, our two girls Jess and Mollie and our Keeshond (Dutch Barge dog) Keesha. I feel very privileged to be working for Boatshed HQ focussing on Business Development. It is my aim to grow the business by adding more fantastic brands to our portfolio of businesses worldwide. If you are interested in finding out more about running your own Boatshed then please do contact me, I will do my best to answer any queries that you may have and help you through the set up from introducing you to existing Boatshed Brokers right through to your training and launch!

Prior to working for Boatshed I worked for Sunsail as a Sales Consultant selling sailing courses and worldwide sailing holidays either over the phone or at various boat shows, the educational trips were amazing and normally included a hotel or yacht somewhere hot to sample the products that we were selling. Prior to Sunsail I spent the vast majority of my years since leaving school working for a pharmaceutical and medical device company firstly as a secretary and then in product management. My main hobby is sailing, I say hobby, but as most sailors know it is more of a lifestyle really. I love the socialising that comes with sailing, the sport and the relaxation, there is never a dull moment when you are out on the water and my favourite quote is ‘sailing is hours of boredom punctuated by moments of sheer terror’ I think that just about sums it up!!! A couple of years ago I passed my Day Skipper Practical and also the theory which I really would recommend as a minimum.

We sold our boat (through Boatshed of course) during 2010 and now own a Westerly Konsort, We are looking forward to getting out on her this year and hopefully getting a few more miles in. Sailing abroad is also one of our passions and we regularly charter in Turkey, Greece and the Caribbean..

As the years go on we are hoping to expand this CV and add more countries to the list. Our ambition is to sail the Arc – Lanzarote to the Caribbean, but I think that is some way off yet and maybe an upgrade from Day Skipper to at least Coastal Skipper beforehand.

My other interests are photography, running, although I do that more out of necessity than of a love for the sport and I quite like cooking, not the everyday cooking but knocking up something a bit special with lovely ingredients and a glass of wine to sip.
