Broker's Comments

Alan West writes (on behalf of Boatshed Port Solent): “If you’re in the market for a Shrimper, you probably know what they’re like better than I do. For those of you thinking “That’s a pretty boat,” you’re right, of course, but her classic boat looks aren’t accompanied by classic boat maintenance problems..

With her wooden bowsprit and spars she looks like a classic traditional gaffer, but her hull and deck is made of GRP, making her durable and easy to maintain. This particular specimen dates from 2000 and is on only her second owner, who is retiring from sailing.

She has a Yanmar 1GM10 diesel inboard that starts on the button and runs as sweet as the proverbial nut. A modern Garmin chart-plotter provides a further concession to the modern world. Very lightly used in recent years, she would benefit from a bit of a polish. Otherwise, she just needs to be sailed.”
