Broker's Comments

Zebra, anyone?

This great little cruiser / racer was hand-crafted by the current owner (a reputable boatbuilder by trade) with painstaking care with a view to doing a solo circumnavigation. However, a fiance and a planned emigration got in the way and she now needs to be sold.

The photos here don't really do the boat justice. When you step aboard, the high levels of fit and finish - and top quality materials - become very apparent; from the wood used in the interior to the deck gear, only the best has been used - and it shows. The owner is in the process of finishing off the interior - to his usual exacting standard - and this work will be completed before a sale goes through.

She comes complete with a cradle and also a secure steel container (which is in the boatyard at the marina) which can be used as a workshop or equipment store.

This is quite an unusual boat. On the one hand, she wouldn't look out of place on the start line at Cowes; on the other, you could imagine her cutting through the waves en route to exotic shores.

Another big plus is that she comes with a Central London residential mooring licence. These licences alone have been marketed for sums in excess of £30,000 so, in some ways, the boat will cost next to nothing. The marina is close to Canary Wharf and the City, so this could make a great pied-a-terre for a City worker who wants to experience some thrills at the weekend.

The running costs for this boat are extremely low; if paid annually, the mooring fees are just £255 per month - and that includes VAT, council tax and water. Where else could you live in Zone 2 for £255 per month??
