Broker's Comments

NOTE: A significantly reduced price as the owner is leaving the country in two weeks and is therefore looking for a swift sale. A survey was carried out in March and all issues have been addressed. The Golden Hind is a design classic and, for some wooden boat aficionados, nothing else will do. Out of the water, the hull shape looks just right. This one has the long bilge plates that allow her to take the ground without resting at too jaunty an angle. She has been in her current ownership (her third) for nine years, but has sat on the hard for the last year or so. Before then she has seen a great deal of service, and looked after her crews well. She’s equipped for long-distance cruising, with over-sized rigging and wind-vane self-steering, as well as a tiller pilot. She’s had quite a bit of work done in recent years, including a new boom and replacement gunwales. No doubt she would benefit from a tidy-up and scrub, and perhaps some updating in the electrical department, but any true Golden Hind fan will see that as an opportunity rather than an impediment.
