Kohoutek is extremely safe below and on deck with wide side decks and high guard rails – well ballasted with a long keel.
Passage making is very relaxing due to the intelligent system autopilot coupled to the recently reconditioned rudder and hydraulic system. Electronics and nav aids are all recent but the Sailor Radio in an as new condition helps keep the boat’s retro feel.
The boat is self sufficient electrically and DC] due to her massive battery capacity and with her reconditioned diesel generator and powerful inverter.
On deck there is a new bimini and custom made covers – meals and drinks can be enjoyed on the large aft deck. In the less clement weather and with the hatches battened down, Kohoutek is very cosy inside, with twin leather sofas and 12kw heating system. If guests are on board, their accommodation is independent of the owner’s aft cabin and ensuite bath, shower and new heads.
Storage for long term live-aboards is not a problem due to the full size built in wardrobes, drawers and locker space. Cooking on board is not a problem with a domestic sized fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, work top area and recently updated gimballed cooker – as well as a constant supply of hot water.
Kohoutek provides good cruising or a permanent home all year round.
