Broker's Comments

My Prettiest Boat of the Week award goes to this Javelin 30. With entry and exit lines as sharp as the name implies, she looks even sleeker than a Contessa 32, and I suspect she shares a few of the Contessa’s virtues, particularly in regard to sea-keeping and making to windward. Like the Contessa, she’s less roomy below decks, but the expanses of varnished wood provide compensations of a different kind. If you’re in the market for a more traditional-looking yacht, where the emphasis is on sailing rather than space, then this beautiful design may be just what you’re looking for. Stop press: this boat is getting a major refit at present: fully re-conditioned Volvo Penta 30hp engine; new Furlex, all S/S standing rigging, new halliards, new ST60 Raymarine instrumentation and re-antifouling. Asking price remains the same; this boat is now seriously good value.
