Boatshed Central Sales

A quick explanation on how the system works by Neil Chapman.

Boatshed have been trialing the central sales system for over two years now and it has proved successful in the faster sale of boats and the generation of more commission for the group. It offers an alternative to the Boatshed business franchise system and is now available in a number of new territories and areas.

Basically, the Boatshed yacht brokerage process is broken down into five components. These five components are:

Process 1. Listing - Finding the boat to list;

Process 2. Local - Listing the boat and acting as the local representative;

Process 3. Broker - Brokering the deal and dealing with customers;

Process 4. Back Office - Administration and Accounting

Process 5. Platform - Supply of Platform, Data, Support and Infrastructure.

Each of these five processes has a specific number of tasks that sit within each process.

Each process is conducted separately and can be undertaken either individually or in conjunction with other processes.

The five processes each attract a 20% portion of the net commission when a boat is sold.

The Central Sales System is focused on selling boats and commission is only divided up upon successful sale and where individual parties have completed all of the tasks within each process. Each process attracts up to a 20% share of the final commission that is achieved when a boat is successfully sold.

The collaborative approach of Boatshed Central Sales System means that it benefits from the strengths of individual parties involved, plus the collaborative and jointly resourced advantages of a larger organisation.

Boatshed Central Sales is an ideal opportunity for members of the marine industry, boat enthusiasts, yacht brokers, new boat sales companies or entrepreneurs to be involved in successful sale of boats. Selling Boats faster at higher rates of commission.

Process 1. Listing - Finding the boat to list. Finding the boats in process one requires good knowledge of boating as well as an established network of boat contacts in order to source boats and convince people that Boatshed’s transparent approach to boat sales is the system that boat owners should use when selling their boats.

Process 2. Local - Listing the boat and acting as the local representative. The listing and local, requires individuals or organisations that are geographically situated close to where boats are. These processes involve taking photographs, recording video and inventory information as well as acting as local liaison for viewings and surveys. The listing and local processes do not require the individual to undertake negotiation or paperwork or brokerage elements.

Process 3. Broker - Brokering the deal and dealing with customers.
This is the central brokerage element, requires individuals who are good at negotiation as well as liaison with potential boat buyers and sellers during the process of buying and selling a boat. Interestingly enough, process three does not require the broker necessarily to be in the same physical location as where the boat is as all of the Boatshed systems enable this process to be conducted remotely. The Brokerage Process person has the HQ team at their disposal to help and facilitate the process. The Broker essentially manages all parts of the process and is in charge of the transaction.

Process 4. Back Office - Administration and Accounting
Process 5. Platform - Supply of Platform, Data, Support and Infrastructure.
Processes four and five are currently undertaken by the Boatshed headquarters team. The Boatshed HQ team central sales division deal with all administration, banking and act as back office support for individuals and companies undertaking processes one, two and three. Boatshed HQ also deal with all elements and costs associated with the technology and platform on which the business operates on. Processes four and five enable brokers and local listing agents to focus on the job in hand and to conduct valuable direct liaison with clients knowing that they have a full team of administration, accounting and systems support as well as brokerage knowledge available at any time to assist when conducting their tasks.
No fees or charges apply to Agents or Partners in the Central Sales System, parties simply undertake their respective tasks and commission is awarded when a successful sale is achieved
