Join the new London Yacht Club!
Published: Wednesday, 25 January 2012
Welcome to the London Yacht Club, an informal meeting place for anyone with an interest in sailing, motor boating or for those with an envious live-aboard lifestyle.
Unlike the traditional yacht club, we are very informal - no rule books or dress codes here! - just come along and have a drink and a natter with some like-minded people.
Sponsored by Boatshed London, the club will meet in a quiet corner of the Dickens Inn pub at St Katherine Docks, right next to Tower Bridge in the centre of London (nearest tube is Tower Hill, just a 5 minute walk away). We may vary the venue from time to time according to demand. Meetings will generally take place on the first Tuesday of the month. The inaugural meeting is on Tuesday, 7th February - why not come along and be a founder member?
The idea is that we will just chat, make friends, swap boating stories, share experiences and do all the other social things a yacht club provides. We will aim to have an interesting guest speaker at alternate meetings (nothing too heavy - just 30 minutes or so!) and ideas for topics and speakers are always welcome.
So, if boating floats your boat, please do come along and join us. It's friendly, it's informal and it's fun.
The group is open to all sailing yacht, houseboat and motorboat owners in London – and those who are considering buying a boat.
You can sign-up on-line - there is no commitment and there are no membership fees - just follow
