Anyone on a modest budget looking for a big capable cruiser could do a lot worse than take a look at this offering from one of the big names in British yachts. Equipped for extended cruising with both wind generator and a hefty solar panel, there is plenty of room in the spacious centre cockpit and below. Forward is a good-size fore-berth and a day heads. A double-leaf table and two large settees provide plenty of seating. To port is a well-thought-out functional galley with twin sinks and a big fridge. A corridor (almost) to starboard leads aft, from behind the big navigation station, past a pilot berth outboard, into a spacious owner’s cabin with its own heads. Up on deck is a big powerful rig. Big sheet winches tame the large foresail, and in-mast mainsail reefing precludes the necessity of going forward for the most part. If it should become necessary, substantial safety rails at the mast foot inspire confidence. Well equipped and nicely presented, this is a lot of Moody for the money.
