construction

Steel construction with Full-displacement underwater profile, paint finish
The vessel was a straight raked bar stem, long flat plate keel, hard single chine bilge, counter sterned, flat bottomed, single screw motor vessel of French peniche type converted for use as a floating home and of all riveted mild steel construction.

Se has all-riveted construction and the side and bottom shell appeared to be clinker plated in nominally 5mm thick shipbuilding quality steel plate with flush strapped butts and laid on 75mm x 50mm x 6mm ordinary angle single riveted transverse frames spaced about 520 mm and the chine was fitted with a single riveted 75mm x 75mm x 6mm chine bar and the topside/deck corner with a 50mm x 50mm x 6mm deck stringer bar.

The superstructure and deckhouse were constructed of steel and wood.

'Grand Designs' anyone?

This is a huge boat with huge potential. The current owners have started the restoration process but have decided to emigrate and therefore need to hand over the reins to someone else. In many respects, this is a real 'blank canvas' and, for someone with imagination and an eye for design, could make a stunning home.

With the plumbing, electricity and heating systems already partially installed, it would be perfectly feasible for the new owners to live aboard the boat whilst the renovation work is being completed. She is on a secure and cost effective riverside mooring in east London, close to shops and transport links (District Line nearby and mainline train 15 mins to Fenchurch Street).
