This Southerly 100 was built by Northshore in 1985. The Southerly 100 is a Dick Carter design, one of the few really shallow draught modern yachts available. She has a pilot house with interior steering, and a cast iron ballast plate protecting the keel and bottom when grounding. This is one of Southerly Yachts most popular models. She has a Cast Iron ballast plate protecting a manually operated hydraulic lifting keel, skeg rudder with wheel steering. Self-draining cockpit. Internal joinery in teak. The Hull was epoxied in 2006 as a preventative measure. This yacht has been owned by the current owner for the past 26 years and has been stored ashore each winter.

The Southerly 100 offers 5/6 berths. There are two single berths in the forward cabin with storage under the starboard berth, a double in the main saloon, made by a drop down saloon table. There is a small single on the starboard side of the saloon. A large quarter berth aft to Port. This boat has lots of storage and has 6ft 2ins headroom. The heads is to starboard, aft of the interior helm position with a Jabsco marine toilet, wash basin and shower with cold pressurised water. New upholstery was fitted in 2003.

There is plenty of light in the saloon as the pilothouse windows encapsulate the saloon area. In front of the galley to port is a dinette with u-shaped settee with seating for 5 adults as well as further seating for 3 adults on a straight settee to port. Eberspacher diesel cabin heating provides warmth to all cabins and the saloon.

The chart table is to starboard and uses the interior helm seat as a chart table seat. The galley is to port. There is lots of storage space. Carpets, curtains, crockery and cutlery are included.

Broker's Comments

These boat details are subject to contract.
This is a beautiful example of this sturdy Southerly 100 sailing yacht given her age. The owner has had her for about 26 years and appears to have looked after her very well. I would love this yacht myself as she is so well built , has good accomodation, much stowage and sails exceptionally well. The lifting keel allows for venturing into shoaling waters with ease and venturing into the ocean with the stability provided when the keel is lowered. This Southerly 100 will appeal to seasoned sailors because they appreciate the stability, quality and performance she provides. She will also appeal to those new to yachting for the same reasons. She does need an exterior wash at the moment due to the time of year, however I was really impressed by this yacht.
