This week the Boatshed special mention spotlight is on an immaculate Silverette Hull no. 1. Who has previously been owned by Robbie Coltrane who sailed her round the Scottish Isles.

At 9.14 metres long she was designed by John Bain and built by Silvers of Rosneath. A traditional carvel construction on steam bent oak timbers and copper fastened. She has 4 berths and 1 heads.

Built in 1930 she played her part in the war as a submarine lookout boat on western shores and she is still In outstanding condition, she really must be seen to be appreciated. This classic has great all-round views from her beautifully varnished mahogany wheelhouse and all modern comforts inside. Her powerful Thornycroft engine makes her a wonderful coastal or river cruiser or even a live-aboard courtesy of her aft stateroom.
