From her beautifully handcrafted interior to her gracious but robust looking exterior, the Stevens 1200/50 Aft Cabin Vlet is a true classic and much admired motor cruiser across Europe.
Her more vertical facing windscreens, extended saloon coachroof with large side windows and spacious raised cockpit all help to create the traditional look and contribute to the feeling of larger space than in any other 12 metre design of her type.
Whether you're cruising the high seas or moored bankside at your favourite retreat, there is space for the whole family to enjoy time aboard in real comfort. The large aft cabin has acres of storage and total privacy from family or guests in the forward cabin. Ample dining space, a well-appointed galley, plus a second toilet/wash room within the forward cabin completes the package for extended cruising.
This boat was built for the 2004 Southampton Boat Show with no expense spared.
With an exceptional interior fitted out to the current owner's specification. Completed and first commissioned September 2004. Also featured in the Motor Boat Monthly, boat report May 2005, back issues available, MBM rating 9/10, she must be seen to be appreciated.
The galley is on the port side with Corian work surface and sink with recessed drainer, hot and cold water supply. All electric galley appliances, including ceramic hob with Corian cover, s/s extractor hood illuminated and 110 ltr refrigerator, microwave/grill/oven combi unit. Ample storage lockers and drawers with glider shutting mechanisms built in locker for refuse bin and an extra ventilation hatch overhead. On the starboard side there is a large bevelled wall mirror, above the dinette table. The table drops down to convert to a double berth. The galley is fitted with teak and holly flooring.
Steps with built in stowage space lead up to the spacious saloon. The fixed bow shaped seating has the upgraded upholstery in blue with yellow piping and curtains and Harvest Yellow, edge-sewn carpets to match. Overhead spotlighting, concealed floor lighting, 240v sockets, music centre with two ceiling speakers and two speakers at the bridge. A pair of doors to port conceals the flat screen TV/DVD set.
At the rear of the saloon, steps lead down to the aft cabin. There is a hanging locker to starboard in the corridor leading into the cabin. This is arranged with a walk round double berth, with bevelled mirrors and lockers either side. The lift up bed, which is fitted with pelmet lighting, provides huge storage space underneath. There are plenty of opening portholes, again, all with blinds, ceiling lights and fitted carpet. There are two large ventilation hatches let into the transom with concealed insect screens. On the starboard side there is an en suite shower room complete with a built in washer/dryer. On the port side an en suite WC room with an electric sea toilet unit connected to the holding tank, extractor fan, ceiling lights, wash basin in white with hot and cold supply, Corian surfaces, mirror and storage cupboard.
The internal joinery throughout the boat is finished in light cherry wood, with beautiful in built graining and special cherry B profile to cabinet trim. The doors and frames throughout are manufactured with massive cherry surrounds with rounded tops. The ceiling panels are Ahom E6011 extra wide tongue and groove in light ash.
A set of beautiful curved wooden steps at the back of the saloon lead up to the aft deck, via a door and sliding hatch. The helm position is amidships and complete with 2 fully adjustable swivelling bucket seats. Full engine instrumentation and controls are set in a carbon fibre dash. Navigation equipment to include Raychart 530 with GPS 7 inch screen, Autopilot 6001 and Tridata system plus chart table. Raymarine VHF DSC radio.
The aft deck can be covered with a full width canopy that can be removed in sections to leave just a fwd section bimini or removed completely. The windscreens are hinged and removable to facilitate extra low bridges or tunnels.
Externally, a robust stainless steel pulpit and upgraded 35mm side railings provide excellent safety on deck with wide side decks and entry points either side, through sliding gates. There are 2 extra, heavy-duty cleats fitted to port and starboard and a stainless steel bathing platform ladder that folds down into the water. Teak to aft deck only. There is a pair of Simpson stainless steel davits with built in winches for the tender.
The mast, which holds the navigation equipment, TV and VHF aerials, along with a remote controlled searchlight, can be lowered remotely from the bridge.
