Broker's Comments

She has been reduced in price in June 2017 to £6000 due to the Owners not being able to upkeep the cleaning and maintenance particularly of her exterior which is generally cosmetic, see May 2017 picture in the Photos.

The Contessa 28 is a very good example of this classic cruiser racer suited to family, single-handed sailing and racing, renowned for her excellent sailing capabilities and build quality, having been built by Jeremy Rogers who is still building Contessa 32s. She has very good accommodation for a boat of her size and a modern hull shape making her fast and stable with good handling characteristics. This particular boat has been very well cared for over the years, has a beautiful interior and is very well equipped coming with 8 sails (ranging from almost new storm sails, genoa and working jib to slab mainsail and 2 spinnakers), chart plotter, radar, recent gel batteries, solar panel charging system and amplifier for mp3 players and mobile phones. There is a 2012 hull survey available. The engine and rigging have been overhauled in recent years. John Leonard, writer for 'Practical Boat' magazine between 1988 and 1997, previously owned her.
