Broker's Comments

You see many steel boats that LOOK like steel boats, but this isn't one of them. This yacht has really pretty lines, it is very easy to forget she is made of steel, displaces around 8 tonnes and is as robust as they come!
The present owner had her designed for him by Jim Ditchfield, and built locally by Portsmouth Marine Engineering back in 1982, so he knows her pretty well!
Not in her first flush of youth however; I expect a new owner would want to add some more modern electronics and maybe a fridge; but down below she is as snug and welcoming as you can get, a really seamanlike design, decent sea berths and joy of joys, not a drop of water in the bilge! The inside of the hull is foam lined to just above the bilge – a bit like you get on your hot water tank at home; so she is cool in summer and warm in winter – lovely! Her woodwork is nice and solid, plenty of lockers and of course the chart table can take a full sized chart – not something you usually see on boats of this size. This is a seaman’s yacht, and she has been over to the Mediterranean and back with her present owner, as well as visits to the West Country and the Scilly Isles. When it comes on to blow you’ll be glad you've got a proper little ship to look after you – you might even enjoy it!
