Broker's Comments

This Westerly Longbow is one of the cheapest around at the moment she’s not what you might call over-equipped. Instrumentation is sparse, and what there is not guaranteed to work. The upholstery is a bit tired and so are the sails. However, sails are consumable items and instrumentation goes out of date very quickly, so these deficiencies may not seem that important, set against what you do get. This is a big solid boat, with acres of room in the cockpit and below decks. The cockpit is deep; the side-decks are wide and the whole set-up on deck is very reassuring. Down below she feels spacious, with good storage all over the saloon. A long settee makes a good sea-berth, and there are two more in the form of a pair of quarter-berths. I am informed that the engine starts readily and runs well. Much of the running rigging has been replaced. No one would quarrel with the fact that she could use quite a bit of tidying-up. Nonetheless, she’s been made with typical Westerly solidity, and this is an awful lot of boat for not much money
