Broker's Comments

I love these classic Westerlys!
They were designed by a highly respected partnership and built by a top class yard, when 'Made in Britain' was still something to be proud of.
A 'nuts and bolts' boat as one reviewer once described them and with her bilge keeled cousins and smaller sisters (I don't know how far I can stretch this analogy!) they were deservedly the most successful and popular yachts for well over a decade. A heavy, sea-kindly, family cruiser that can cross oceans was how they were marketed - and many have indeed done just that. Sadly, Westerly Yachts are no more (although new spares are still, I believe, readily available) and many of the ones you will find for sale have now seen better days. Sagging head-linings, leaking windows, oily bilges and spaghetti wiring are symptomatic of neglect and shoe string maintenance. Happily, this is emphatically not the case with this one. We have here a well maintained example from a caring and competent owner with recent rigging and sails. He is asking a realistic price, although a close offer would no doubt be considered.
