The West Sail 32, the owner tells me, has an incredibly stable hull, the stern is called canoe back or canoe stern, which provides excellent stability in the water.
It was built in 1975 by the Westsail Corporation, California, one of 830 built about half of those factory completed, of which this is one. (Hull number 429) She provides plenty of room for friends and family on long or short range cruises out to sea.
Although it was built in the 70s she looks remarkably tidy, a major refit has been made in 2004 which included the Main / Head sails, running rigging and engine a Mitsubishi 33hp. These upgrades make this possibly the best Westsail 32 around.
With a total of seven berths, two doubles/three singles and three cabins there is also a neat galley with oven sink, and fridge.
It also comes with 2.5hp Mercury outboard but no dingy. The West Sail 32 has a nickname as the “Wet Snail” but reading comments from other owners they say that this is harsh and that the pretty West Sail 32 will “get you anywhere you need, in any seas” There is an owners club in the US and plenty of information on the Internet about this model. A very desirable and aesthetically pleasing yacht which is easy to get on with.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
