Broker's Comments

Boatshed London is very pleased to have this wonderful saling barge in their portfolio. The barge was built in the Netherlands by Kuijper. She was launched in 1983 and was raced and cruised around the North Sea until 1996. She came to the UK in 2001.

She underwent an extensive refit by the current owner in 2012. Although the accommodation was changed to provide a comfortable living space, the interior retains her sailing credentials giving her a charm so often lost with liveaboards.

The combined galley and saloon is light and spacious, as is the large sleeping quarters, with a full-sized double, ensuite and a forward cabin which can sleep four in bunks.

Below the waterline she is epoxy coated, applied in 2012. A survey at the time reported the condition of the hull plating to be 'in great condition' with minimal deterioration in hull thicknesses.

The owner has kept extensive records as to the refit of the boat, and her systems. The vessel has been exceptionally well-maintained with the deck due to be repainted this season.

The barge is currently moored at Chelsea Harbour and the new owner could look to take over the mooring following application to the mooring management. Current mooring costs are £12,250 pa. It is a great location for a boat to be used as a pied-a-terre. However, this barge is ready to be sailed away and the London mooring should be viewed as an optional extra.
