Broker's Comments

This well designed and strongly built Barbican 33 has much to offer. Especially to someone who is practically minded and willing to take on the project to complete the interior. If you can see past the fact that cosmetically, the woodwork and headlinings do need sorting out, you should also be able to see that there is a great cruising yacht here waiting to be snapped up and sailed practically anywhere.

The heavy layup and shallow long keel with bilge keels, enables offshore, inshore and shallow estuary sailing with the assistance of an in-mast reefing main and roller reefing headsail. There is also an electric windlass and davits at the stern to support both the wind generator, radar dome and, if required, a solar panel would fit perfectly here.

Although she currently looks very untidy internally i.e. general uncleanliness, lack of upholstery, unfinished headlining and hanging wires, most of these problems are cosmetic. With a good clean up, finishing the head-lining and the addition of upholstery, the accommodation on this vessel could be transformed. The main requirements are already in place with a full cooker, fridge, an in cabin heating stove along with a roomy dinette and separate heads compartment.

There is a good base for a great living area here, on a very capable vessel and at a very reasonable price. Time and tide wait for no man, don't miss the boat.
