About Lisa Malherbe
I started working with Boatshed South Africa in December 2021.
What did you do before working with Boatshed?
I am a qualified Yacht Master Offshore instructor and co-owner of local Cape Town sailing school, since 2010. I teach Skipper’s theory and practical courses. I am also a qualified teacher and examiner of Radio operator’s Short Range Certificate.
In my spare time I am contracted by South African Sailing(SAS) as a Certificate of Fitness inspector to conduct annual boat and hull inspections.I am also part of a team to scrutinise racing yachts for the local Yacht club’s racing calendar, as well as a Safety at Sea committee member at the Royal Cape Yacht Club.
What attracted you to become part of the Boatshed team?
I am excited to be joining Bruce Stirk as part of the Boatshed Cape Town, South Africa team, and look forward to the where the next adventure will take us
Are you a motorboater or a sailor?
The Indian Ocean is my favourite holiday destination. I have access to a 44 ft catamaran and enjoy the sailing and fishing opportunities as a relaxing getaway.
What is your most memorable boating experience?
I have taken part in the Governor’s Cup, from Cape Town to St Helena. I have also sailed many passages along the South African coastline and to the Seychelles delivering boats.
