Gilles Vaton for technical aspects, Patrick Roséo for design; this duo that got to the Kelt 8.50, the title of boat of the year 1984. The Kelt is a bit slow in light winds but becomes rapid once the wind reached 10 knots. The fractional rig even gives it an air of racing sailboat.

Broker's Comments

These boat details are subject to contract.
The Kelt 850 was a true revolutionary design, combining spacious and well thought out interior accommodation with excellent sailing performance. The full plumb bow and wide stern sections combine to increase waterline length, reducing pitching upwind and give great off wind speed. The integral swimming platform in the sugar scoop stern is also a great safety feature, making for easy recovery of swimmers or a man overboard. The internal accommodation is still unrivalled in a boat of this size, with 6 x full size berths, proper galley area, decent sized chart table and separate heads and aft cabin. The fore-peak forms a charming Breton Bunk with curtains for privacy. There is plenty of storage in the cabin along with exceptional space within the cockpit locker.
If your looking for a good boat on a budget this could be the one for you.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
