Broker's Comments

It is difficult to mistake the graceful lines of the Nicholson 48 - a powerful hull with attractive overhangs provide a gratifying sailing performance combined with an easy to handle rig and comfortable accommodation.

This is not your average C&N 48, she was the last one built and has all the attributes and then has benefitted from initially a very knowledgeable first owner who had the rig moved aft by 6-8 inches to improve performance and ease of handling and subsequently a major refit beginning in 2012 which has seen every functional aspect of the boat replaced, excepting the main engine which was new anyway in 2003.

She is stored ashore for 10 months of the year and cruises for 2 months - she is so well set up and equipped that her owners (now 80 years old) do not need to touch land as they are completely self sufficient. I can't imagine a nicer way to spend your summer

She is currently ashore as she is every winter. All her routine maintenance has been completed March 2017 including sails off and laundered, bearings replaced in both the prop and the wind generator and her usual servicing. This is a truly exceptional example of an iconic design and she's ready and waiting to sail oceans.
