Built in Rhode Island, the Pearson Yacht Company manufactured the 422 and the 424 as either a center cockpit version or an aft cockpit. This vessel is the cutter-rigged center cockpit 422. Designed by Naval architect Bill Shaw as a boat for two couples aboard, she is both beautiful and robust. The keel is a modified fin keel design (longer than normal) with cutaway forefoot and a skeg-hung rudder. Keel ballast is 7634 LBS of lead encapsulated in fiberglass housing a deep sump. A survey of her condition in 2011 revealed above average condition for a vessel of her age and class, she has many quality upgrades, has an above average equipment inventory and shows good past maintenance.

Dimensions and capacities are not independently verified by Waterline Boats / Boatshed, and are reported from seller-supplied information and/or literature.

Going below you enter from the cockpit forward on a 6 step ladder to the salon floor. Forward is a "V" berth cabin or guest cabin. It's fairly large with both drawer storage and hanging locker space. It also has a private entrance to the forward head which is to port. Moving aft there is a settee to both sides of the salon with a solid teak table that folds up to seat 6. There is at this time a portable refrigerator standing on the floor forward on the port side. The galley is "U" shaped and to starboard. Directly across from the galley is a navigation table and seat behind which is a passageway aft to the owners cabin. This large aft cabin has a walk around queen berth and a private head with shower. Broker's Comments

The Pearson 42 is a very well regarded and strongly built vessel. It's a great design for the live aboard or long range traveler. This boat has recently had all the electrical systems renewed with a new ABYC-approved DC panel, new inverter and charging system, all navigation electronics uninstalled, tested and re-installed on the boat. Two separate cabins, center cockpit, and two heads make this boat really roomy.
