Construction
Construction | GRP |
---|---|
Underwater profile | Fin |
Finish | Gelcoat finish |
In 1988 Bavaria used a special anti-osmosis treatment during the build. They put in an impermeable chemical barrier called F+E polykondensate applied between the gelcoat and the first layer of GRP. Apparently is was developed by Hoescht, a German chemical company. There you are, you learn something every day!

Broker's Comments
I have to admit to this boat being a completely new one for me. I had no idea that Bavaria had ever made a 26. So it was with a keen interest that I stepped aboard this example and was, almost immediately, very pleasantly surprised.
For a 26 this is a lot of boat and by designing in an aft cabin one seems to get a lot of space by foregoing the fore-peak for a bigger saloon.
The heads are spacious, the galley is workable and there is even a chart table. Maybe not for full sized charts but it is still there and would be very useful. Apart from that there are storage lockers everywhere so no excuse for an untidy vessel.
The present owner has been responsible for much of the current, excellent condition of this boat and also its high level of equipment all go to make this a boat that is well worth serious consideration for the comfortable family cruiser.
Give me a call to book an early viewing. I am sure that you won't be disappointed.
