Broker's Comments
Wow! This CNB 64 is a custom built yacht that really makes sense. A Carbospars freestanding, rotating aerorig on a Bruce Farr design. I find it amazing that there aren't more around! Sailing performance is certainly the correct term, with the aerorig's aerodynamic efficiency guaranteeing improved performance and faster than average cruising passage speeds.
The advantages of this well designed yacht with her innovative wing keel and Carbospars aerorig combination are all there:
Tremendous performance, yet easier to handle and safer than conventional rigs.
Quick and easy to power-up and accelerate and equally to de-power - she can easily be handled by one person.
There is only one sheet on an electric winch and the foresail is roller furling. For berthing there is also a hydraulically retracting electric bow thruster.
The deck space is much more uncluttered than with conventional rigs and well designed and comfortable - from 2 cockpits and all that new teak decking in 2005 to added design touches like securable cushions!
Down below the accomodation is in good order, with plenty of controllable natural light and a well appointed interior. The Owner's Cabin aft is massive (being full beam breadth) with a good sized heads and shower cubicle. The 2 forward guest cabins are identical - each with a double and 1 single berth. The berths also have slatted springing for greater comfort and practicality. Each of the 2 guest cabins has an ensuite heads, with both sharing a shower cubicle. The crew cabin has 2 single berths with it's own heads and shower.
The galley is a good size and well laid out with all the extra kit one would expect with this quality of yacht design - plenty of fridge and freezer space, including cold plates.
This is simply a great yacht with performance, safety and comfort! If you are looking for a yacht of this size, even if you are not totally familiar with the advantages of an aerorig - take a serious look at this original beauty!
