The Californian 34 LRC was built in California and was considerably ahead of its time as one of the first, modern planing "trawler" style yachts. The hull and topsides are full molded fiberglass with no wood structure. The decks are fiberglass with no teak. The well built, all fiberglass hull is designed for speed and stability and achieved an excellent reputation. This example was built by the designer's company, Marshall Boat Company. That company was purchased in 1982 by Wellcraft and in 1987 by Carver.
The present owner is an experienced boat builder employed at Christensen Yachts, a leading builder of very large yachts. In 2000 and 2001 he did a major renovation of the boat at a cost of over $60,000, removing all the engines, tanks and systems below deck. The engines were rebuilt, the fuel tanks replaced with new aluminum tanks as well as new water and holding tanks. Essentially all the mechanical systems on the boat were replaced or rebuilt at that time. The full size refrigertor/freezer was replaced and the decks painted last year. New carpets were installed this year. The boat is kept in covered moorage and is in outstanding condition inside and out. In essence, this is a much newer boat than its build date suggests.

Comentario del broker
This twin-diesel Californian 34 LRC was built in California to a high standard. It was a modern boat for its time with full molded hull and topsides designed for planing speed and long range cruising. This particular example is owned by an experienced boat builder employed at Christensen Yachts, a leading builder of very large yachts. He has spent substantially more than the current asking price of this boat on complete renovation of all systems on this boat. All mechanical systems were removed, the interior hull painted, the engines rebuilt, new fuel and water tanks installed and a 5.5 KW Northern lights generator added. This boat is basically an almost new boat. It is kept in covered moorage and all exterior finishes look in new condition.
The interior design provides for a large cockpit which opens through double doors into a roomy salon that combines galley and helm station. Two sleeping compartments forward (including a large head and shower) accommodate six in a stylish 34 foot hull. This boat is a very good value at a fraction of the price for an equivalent boat.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
