The Catalina 27 is an American classic! There were 6,600 made during a 20 year production period, beginning in 1971 and, the C27 was the model in many ways for the design and construction philosophy of Catalina even today. The boat is built with style and a high-volume interior. It’s a spacious, user friendly family cruiser with a PHRF rating of about 210 and can be raced competitively today with active international association. See www.catalina27.org. The association site is loaded with helpful info for a new owner. The Catalina 27 hull is solid fiberglass. She has a shallow but comfortable cockpit with a pedestal/wheel steering. The interior is user friendly with a huge companionway that makes stepping below a breeze. It includes a v-birth forward cabin followed by an enclosed head. It sleeps 5 and has 6 feet of head room. The saloon has two facing settees for convenience in dining and socializing below. Food preparation in the galley to port is easy and safe with CNG-stove, sink, icebox. Below the water line you will find a fin keel 4'10", and folding prop. This sloop is the tall rig version with roller furling and an adequate inventory of sails. The boat is fast, responsive and easy to sail. The boat is well balanced and thrives in upwind moderate conditions. The self-tailing winches make for ease when trimming the sails. It has a Universal 18 Diesel engine with less than 800 hours of operation. Extras include a new dinghy, cradle, solar sun vent and swim ladder.
