About Corinne Gillard - Senior Broker
I started working with Boatshed in August 2014.
What did you do before working with Boatshed?
I was brought up sailing with the family in the Irish Sea and migrated south at the age of 16 to start work as a dinghy sailing instructor with Emsworth Sailing School, teaching 6 year olds to play bumper boats in Oppies in the Millpond. A few seasons of that led to opportunities further west and Weymouth became home for 10 years where I worked for the Harbour Office and studied and obtained a BA Hons (1st class) in Maritime Leisure Management.
All that serious stuff became a bit much, so I ran away to sea and sailed for a living, enjoying summers in the Med and winters in the Caribbean, some fantastic crossings in between and time around Australia, Africa and the Indian Ocean. Time off was spent diving and windsurfing - not a bad life!
What attracted you to become part of the Boatshed team?
Living in East Cowes and having 2 little boys who keep me running, means I need the flexibility that Boatshed can offer. I also love listening to the boating tales my customers like to share with me.
Are you a motorboater or a sailor?
When ever I get spare time I enjoy being out on the water sailing and on the RIB with my children.
What is your most memorable boating experience?
Too many to choose from - everyday on the water is memorable for some reason or another!
