Broker's Comments
This boat has been viewed and photographed by Gary of Boatshed Algarve. This 1975 Contessa 32 designed by David Sadler is a well travelled yacht with a long keel and skeg. The type being made famous for completing the ill fated 1979 Fastnet race, the only vessel in its class to complete.
The owner proudly tells me about his solo Atlantic circuit which involved sailing around much of the Caribbean and back. It all started in August 2004 and was completed by July 2005, this life time dream is what she was bought for and realised with no problems at all.
He tells me about the delight in sailing it in all weathers with a vanishing stability angle in excess of 140’. The stability curve is still regularly used as a comparison in yachting magazine tests of newer designs, very, very few yachts ever match her range of positive stability. Sadly the owner wishes to sell it now for something a little smaller, despite his very fond memories of being onboard.
Age considered she remains very tidy with two cabins, six berths, one double and four singles, also a reasonable size saloon and galley.
On deck all running/standing rigging are in order with the hull being recently sandblasted to remove old antifouling, the topside being re- sprayed , all the work that has bean carried out by the owner to a high standard.
