Broker's Comments

Boatshed Newport has the privilege to offer for sale this beautifully kept Devon Yawl. Based on the 200-year-old design of the Salcombe Yawl that was used for fishing, her heritage gives her excellent stability and handling, even in strong winds. The clinker design has been modernized with a GRP construction, and the masts are lightweight carbon fiber, giving her that classic look, with modern strength and weight. To maintain her classic look, this particular one also had the optional mahogany rub-rail installed during her build.
With plenty of ballast, including her 175lb centerboard, you will notice her stability from the moment you board her, and step into the spacious cockpit. From here, she is simple to handle, and also has three methods of propulsion. As well as her sails, she also comes with a 3.3 horsepower outboard, and a pair of oars.
This really is the perfect boat for the New England area. With the advantages of both a dingy and a day boat, you can either leave her on a mooring or dock, or use the trailer that comes with her to take her home with you after a great day of sailing.
This yawls ‘sister ship’ is also for sail. Please see the Devon Launch on our web site for further details. Both were bought new by their current owner, who is happy to sell them individually as priced, or together for the low price of just $20,000. Please call Rob from Boatshed Newport for further information.
