The original barge was built in c. 1920 and converted into a liveaboard in 1985 and sailed to London. Many of the original features still remain such as the deck gear and windlass.

The current owners had the hull re-steeled in 2013 which is due to last for the next 80-100 years.

The three cabins all provide a level of spaciousness not normally associated with river living. The master cabin in the bow has an enormous amount of storage and shares a heads, containing a bath and shower, with the 2nd cabin which has two single bunk beds. The third cabin with ensuite heads and shower is in the stern and accessed via the wheelhouse - the current owners have previously rented out this space to tenants.

The barge is fully plumbed into the marina's sewage system.

Broker's Comments

Glorious 26m Dutch Barge with steel hull that is situated on one of the most desirable moorings in London just 5 minutes from the Kings Road. With sweeping views of Battersea and Albert Bridges to the east and Wandsworth and Chelsea Harbour to the west, this barge has the pick of the moorings. The mooring is permanent residential and is secured until 2020. The wheelhouse, which has been beautifully restored and retains the original teak panelling, is the perfect study/workspace with incomparable views of the Thames. The interior of this barge is open plan and spacious with a wood pellet stove keeping the entire barge warm. The large, bright galley is fully equipped with electric oven and cooker, fridge and freezer, dishwasher and washing machine.

All three bedrooms share similar levels of bright living space and this barge would make a superb family home.

The mooring fees for this barge are roughly £13,000 p.a.
