The Elan Impression 340 is built by Elan yachts to designs by Rob Humphreys, so you know you are going to get a decent yacht!
“The 340 replaces the Elan 333, the highly successful model that saw sales of over 500 hulls. In the 340 Humphreys has refined the 333 concept to create a cruiser / racer that offers both superior performance and increased living space.” (http://www.humphreysdesign.com/ 2006).
This boat is pretty close to what I would call “showroom condition”. You could find the odd blemish if you were really picky – but she has been well looked after by her owners. I was amazed how big she feels below decks – the generous headroom and well thought out design makes her feel like a 36 or 38 footer, and the heads are spacious and well lit enough to grace an even bigger yacht. The aft cabin is worthy of the name, with a decent sized double bunk (my wife would call it a bed, she might even say it was downstairs).
She has all the electronics you need, and a sail plan ideal for short handing – furling genoa, lines led aft and of course that brilliant oversized wheel. The cabin heater was running when I took the photos, so even in November we were toasty-warm! High spec, high quality of presentation, this all must mean great fun!
