Broker's Comments

Boatshed Dartmouth are pleased to offer for sale a beautifully crafted, UK built, performance, gaff-rigged Heir Island Sloop day boat. 23 boats have been built and most are sailed in SW Ireland and raced in Baltimore Harbour. When asked by the owner and co-builder to come and see this yacht for the first time I was struck by her good looks and attention to detail in the building of her. The Heir Island Sloop is unquestionably the finest designed and built gaff-rigged daysailer available – she is very pretty, sails like a dream and is beautifully finished. The hull is grp; deck, seats, coamings, spars are all hardwood timber (Iroko or Utile) and the fittings are all bronze or stainless steel. A more detailed brochure is available on request along with a review from Bill Mayher of Wooden Boat Magazine. This boat is in mint condition having been sailed for about an hour and the engine for about 15 minutes! The asking price is some £5000 under the intended UK new price. She is currently awaiting RCD approval. Please note that the trailer and electric motor shown are optional extras. Viewings are strictly by prior appointment with Paul at Boatshed Dartmouth and are available 6 days a week.
These boat details are subject to contract.
Note: Offers on the asking price may be considered.
