Broker's Comments

This very pretty yacht is a modified L. Francis Herreshoff ketch (Lines #107) rigged as a cat with a wishbone, and gaff mizzen.
The owners have the following to say about her:
"After seven years of construction, Our boat was launched with a sister ship in 1991 amid great fanfare. The hulls are identical but the rigs and interiors completely different. My wife, Laura, and I set off on our adventures in 1992 from Marthas Vineyard, USA. Nearly 20 years, some 50,000 sea miles later, we find ourselves caught in eddy in SouthEast Asia. Through stormy weather and prolonged calms Pollen Path looked after us very well. Over the years, we have put her through her paces; in light airs and off the wind she sails like a dream; to windward is hard work for all. Our goal was to keep the boat simple: in our early cruising years we had little need for complex systems. To some she is somewhat unconventional but we think, perfect for a cruising couple.
She may not have some of the bells and whistles found on other cruising boats but She has beauty, integrity and heart. Our boat has never disappointed us, each time we have felt incapable of reaching a destination, getting into a tricky anchorage or keeping pace with faster boats, Pollen Path has proved her mettle. Laura and I have given up long before the boat ever has"
