Broker's Comments

It’s a shame to note the demise of Hunter Yachts (though I understand they are once more available to be built to order.) Hunter built some of the best examples of practical small yacht designs to be found anywhere in the world, and there are a large numbers of them still in regular use, sailed by people who value their spacious, practical interiors, reassuring sea-keeping and lively performance. Some of my early sailing opportunities involved crewing on a Hunter 27, so I have fond memories of the marque. That one was a twin keel, and she sailed pretty quickly. This one has a winged fin keel, with a bulb of additional weight concentrated at the wing, so she should be stiffer, point higher and sail even faster than mine did. She’s factory finished, and the current owner has looked after her well. She’s just been out of the water to be scrubbed, polished and anti-fouled, and have various other small jobs completed. She’s now ready to go, whether it’s to race or cruise, or a bit of both. A very sound, good value yacht, this.
