Broker's Comments
If you are looking for an easily handled trailer sailor (and by that I mean easily handled off the water) then this Macgregor is certainly one to consider. She’s a lightweight, like a big dinghy with a lid, so towing, launching and recovery should be a cinch, but with her water ballast taken on via an ‘automatic’ valve, once on the water she turns into a yacht. She has a simple rig and this has been improved by her present owner by the addition of a boomed staysail – although her original sails are also with her.
Living accommodation is a fairly spartan open plan, but at 7’ x 6’ she has a bigger double bed than the average house! A cooker and toilet complete the essentials for fun weekends afloat.
MacGregor have built more sailboats than anyone else in the world. One assumes that they are doing something right!
