This boat exemplifies Meridian Yachts' reputation quality and value in an easy-to-handle yacht. The 580 Pilothouse was the flagship of their fleet and the showpiece of Meridian's thoughtful design and attentive craftsmanship. The 580 is built to maximize interior volume and boasts a wide beam. Northwest boaters tend to find this particularly appealing because of the resulting roomy salon and impressive master stateroom.

The 580 was a popular model while in production, for good reason. This 580 Pilothouse is about as close to new as you can get, so be sure to put it on your list of vessels to view.

Exterior Layout:

Boarding is easy from either the swim platform or the gunwale depending on the height of the dock. There is a large swim platform, and with the tender on the boat deck, there is plenty of room for boarding or sitting out on the swimstep. From the cockpit you can access the foredeck by using the side decks which are fairly large, especially considering the volume of the salon. The foredeck has a built-in sunpad with cup holders - a nice feature for summertime cruising. The flybridge can be accessed either through the salon or by a ladder from the cockpit. The flybridge helm consists of two captain's chairs and L-shaped seating on the port side. The starboard side has a wet bar with icemaker, sink and storage. The flybridge canvas enclosure is in very good condition.

Interior Layout:

Enter the salon through the sliding glass companionway door in the cockpit. The amount of interior volume sets this yacht apart - largely due to a wider beam than most other 58' pilothouse motoryachts. This design is especially practical in the Northwest where heated living space and inside helms are sought after. On the port side of the salon is a leather sofa and a barrel chair. On the starboard side is the entertainment center with flatscreen TV and a curved sofa. Just forward is the U-shaped galley to port. It offers many conveniences of home including a full sized refrigerator, full sized oven, four burner stove and granite counter tops. Across from the galley is the main dining area - a curved sofa with granite dining table.

Up a few steps from the salon/galley area is the pilothouse. It features a centerline helm chair and full navigational electronic suite including two 12" Northstar displays. There is plenty of seating for the crew, with windows all around, so everyone gets a good view. There is a pilothouse door on the starboard side which makes access to the foredeck easier and can let a nice breeze in on summer days.

The staterooms are accessed by walking down a curved staircase from the pilothouse. The master suite is a spacious, full beam stateroom with a private head and shower. It also has hanging lockers, drawer storage, a flatscreen TV, and a large vanity/sink area. Forward of the master is a stacked washer and dryer concealed by a door. A few steps further forward is a guest stateroom with overlapping over/under bunks. The forward VIP stateroom is in the forepeak. It has an island queen bed, flatscreen TV and storage. Adjacent is the guest head and shower which is accessible from the hallway or the VIP stateroom.

Broker's Comments

Meridian Yachts says that it "designs its vessels to deliver livability, cruisability and maneuverability at an exceptional value...". The Meridian 580 Pilothouse Motoryacht strikes me as a fine example of that effort. This particular 580 Pilothouse is impeccably clean throughout and boasts an extensive list of features -- both standard items and many options that make this boat ideal for cruising our local waters and far beyond. Take your crew in comfort! Five-zone reverse cycle heat/air conditioning and diesel heat for climate control, plus a 17.5 generator and 3000W inverter for electrical needs. Getting everyone to shore is easy with the 12' Apex RIB with 50HP Yamaha outboard. She is also equipped with a watermaker, Northstar Navigation suite with back up cameras, washer/dryer, bow and stern thrusters, flybridge/cockpit enclosures and more.

Meridian Yachts designed the salon and galley to be a part of the same open entertaining space and used large windows to give the boat a spacious feel. The raised pilothouse makes long runs comfortable in any weather for the both the captain and the crew. The master stateroom provides luxurious accommodations for the owners, while other two staterooms furnish generous accommodations for guests.

The attentive owner has been thoroughly on top of maintenance and keeps the boat very clean throughout, including the engine room.

The Meridian 580 Pilothouse is no longer in production - if you are looking for one that is as close to new as possible be sure to put this one on your list of vessels to view.

Powered with twin Cummins QSM-11 635 hp diesels engines with approximately 600 hours and ZF Electronic controls.
