Broker's Comments
Boatshed Wales are delighted to offer for sale this Ocqueteau 645, a popular French-built pilothouse cruiser renowned for its practicality, economical shaft-drive diesel engine and generous cockpit space.
Equally suited to fishing, coastal cruising and family day trips, she offers one of the largest self-bailing aft cockpits in her class, with removable bench seating providing flexibility for both angling and leisure use.
We witnessed the boat start promptly, run smoothly and perform well, reaching over 23 knots and cruising comfortably at around 18 knots. The engine sounds sweet and appears well maintained.
A local marine engineer recalled the previous owner asking for the fuel gauge to be replaced because it barely moved. After inspection, the gauge was found to be working perfectly—the boat simply used so little fuel. A great example of the Ocqueteau's reputation for outstanding fuel economy, particularly at displacement speeds.
The bright wheelhouse offers excellent all-round visibility, while the practical cabin provides a convertible double berth, private marine toilet compartment, sink and folding table. Although showing its age cosmetically, the interior remains clean, functional and ideal for occasional overnight stays.
Overall, this is a well-presented example of an exceptionally economical pilothouse cruiser. With a cut and polish, she would make a particularly smart boat for her next owner.
