This Southerly 100 was built by Northshore in 1985. The Southerly 100 is a Dick Carter design, one of the few really shallow draught modern yachts available. She has a pilot house with interior steering, and a cast iron ballast plate protecting the keel and bottom when grounding. This is one of Southerly Yachts most popular models. She has a Cast Iron ballast plate protecting a manually operated hydraulic lifting keel, skeg rudder with wheel steering. Self-draining cockpit. Internal joinery in teak. The Hull was epoxied in 2006 as a preventative measure. This yacht has been owned by the current owner for the past 26 years and has been stored ashore each winter.

Broker's Comments

This is a beautiful example of this sturdy Southerly 100 sailing yacht given her age. The owner has had her for about 26 years and appears to have looked after her very well. I would love this yacht myself as she is so well built , has good accomodation, much stowage and sails exceptionally well. The lifting keel allows for venturing into shoaling waters with ease and venturing into the ocean with the stability provided when the keel is lowered. This Southerly 100 will appeal to seasoned sailors because they appreciate the stability, quality and performance she provides. She will also appeal to those new to yachting for the same reasons. She does need an exterior wash at the moment due to the time of year, however I was really impressed by this yacht.
