The engine room is accessed through a hatch in the aft deck. Forward, there’s six-foot headroom and easy access to all critical items. Cooling-water intakes are on centreline, in full view, and clear labeling of valves, switches, and equipment takes the guesswork out of operation and maintenance. The engines are mounted atop stout longitudinal stringers that tie into transverse structural bulkheads. They transfer load to the hull bottom, a beefy single-skin laminate with multiaxial fibre reinforcement, and hull sides, decks, and superstructure, which are balsa-cored sandwich panels with multiaxial fiber in the skins.

The saloon offers two lounge areas: the aft one has facing seating on either side of a sliding glass window wall, so the saloon can be kept in climate-controlled comfort or opened to the aft deck, forming a big indoor/outdoor entertainment centre. The second lounge is forward to port, where large, comfortable, U-shaped seating wraps around the dining table.

Space adjoining the well-equipped galley has been fitted as a small crew space with a single berth and separate heads/shower unit. The galley itself has two fridges, microwave/grill, ceramic hob and dishwasher.

The aft seating area on the flying bridge converts to a sunpad, and a removable table stows under the forward seats.

3 cabins plus 1 crew cabin. The master stateroom has s large centreline berth, accessible from three sides and with a large stowage space beneath. Side ports and an overhead hatch make the space light and airy. Headroom is 6'4" minimum.

The flyridge can be accessed via a moulded stairwell on the aft deck (with teak steps) or via a saloon staircase just behind the helm.

With twin drinks tables, the flybridge cockpit can seat 8-10 guests. Behind the copilot seat to starboard is an amenities centre with sink, 12/24V fridge and an icemaker.

The flybridge helm console is fitted with repeater 7" navigation screen, a stereo remote, a bowthruster control, Mathers electronic shifts and a sports wheel.

Hydraulic swim platform: at the touch of a button, the entire platform lowers to water level, or a few inches below, so bathers can easily swim on and off without having to climb a ladder. The platform is large enough to accommodate a PWC or small tender, in which case the platform lift capability greatly simplifies watertoy launch and retrieval.

Broker's Comments

This is a truly stunning Manhattan 56, in great condition and offering a huge specification list with almost every conceivable extra. The current owner is fastidious about keeping her shipshape, with a professional valeting job every three weeks.

The Manhattan 56 is one of Sunseeker’s most successful flybridge yachts, with sleek styling and clever, contemporary architecture. The flybridge is huge, offering ample room for larger parties to enjoy views across the sea or indulge in a spot of sunbathing as you cruise steadily at impressive speeds courtesy of the twin MAN 800 HP engines.

The interior is immaculate and it really is difficult to find fault. It’s finished in sparkling cherry gloss wood with new cream carpeting (2009) in saloon & cabins, with oak flooring in lieu of carpet in galley. Both fore and aft saloon areas have cream leather upholstery. There’s a satellite TV and Sony entertainment system and reverse cycle air conditioning.

Mechanically, she’s also in tip-top condition, with relatively low hours on the pristine MAN engines.
