Broker's Comments
I found this Beneteau Swift Trawler 42 an impressive boat. Even without slipping her lines and taking her for a test drive!
She has an attractive blue hull and clean, white superstructure, and below deck is equally attractive. She has good storage space, air conditioning and generous accommodation for 6, although her 2 well appointed double cabins make her more ideal for 4.
Design features I really liked were the midship doors in the side gunwales, which give great access when alongside and a door in the aft deck for stern-to mooring and access to the swim platform. There is also good access to the side deck from the cockpit via practical sliding doors. Another bonus is that she is designed with good access to the engine space which means you don't have to dismantle the entire saloon to get to the engines for routine maintenance!
The aft deck is spacious and well protected, with plenty of room for tables and chairs. She also has doors onto the side deck which give it more protection when needed and an aft deck enclosure which is capable of being easily rolled up. Her top deck is a good size with fly bridge and seating and there is plenty of space for storing a tender and liferaft and her mast swings down to reduce airdraft. Comfort-wise, on the bridge she also has a generous sized bimini, fridge and bar sink.
She appeared in excellent condition and has been professionally maintained and managed. The only visible flaw I found was a single broken strut on the anchor locker which was being fixed as I left. I would happily live on this boat.
