Marine electric add-on engine manufacturer, BlueNav, has signed two new distribution contracts, as it expands with sales and service dealers for the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands.

BlueNav, established in 2020, develops electric and hybrid engines for boats. These motorisation solutions are designed to convert medium-sized boats, ranging from eight to 15 metres long, normally propelled by combustion engines, into hybrid electric boats.

BlueNav has granted exclusive distributorship rights for the UK and Ireland to Technical Marine Supplies and the Netherlands to De Stille Boot. Starting from METSTRADE 2023 (15-17 November), Technical Marine Supplies and De Stille Boot will handle sales, service, installation, and after-sales support for BlueNav products in their respective markets, catering to both the leisure and commercial boats.

“TMS is delighted to announce its partnership with BlueNav,” says Andy Postle, MD of TMS. “With our highly skilled sales and technical teams dedicated to serving the OEM and refit markets in the UK, this collaboration represents a perfect alignment between two industry-leading companies. Our shared commitment to maintaining a robust inventory resonates with BlueNav, and we eagerly anticipate the arrival of our first shipment into the UK.

“The level of professionalism demonstrated by the BlueNav team has left us thoroughly impressed, and we are excited about forging a strong and enduring partnership”

At the heart of their BlueNav’s offering is BlueSpin, an electric motor that can be installed in both newly constructed boats and existing ones as a retrofit option.

“BlueNav’s international expansion is driven by its vision to spearhead the evolution of electric propulsion technology in the boating industry, making electric propulsion the new standard,” says Thomas Frouin, co-founder of BlueNav. “By collaborating with partners and engaging with industry stakeholders globally, we aim to showcase the benefits and possibilities of alternative propulsion systems, including enhanced efficiency, reduced emissions, and improved performance.

“BlueNav strives to be a catalyst for positive change in the global boating industry.”
